An unforgettable coming of age novel for fans of 13 Reasons Why, Itâs Kind of a Funny Story, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Fifteen-year-old Jeff wakes up on New Yearâs Day to find himself in the hospitalâspecifically, in the psychiatric ward.
Despite the bandages on his wrists, heâs positive this is all some huge mistake. Jeff is perfectly fine, perfectly normal; not like the other kids in the hospital with him.
But over the course of the next forty-five days, Jeff begins to understand why he ended up hereâand realizes he has more in common with the other kids than he thought.

The characters are all very complex and therefore always seems to surprise you. There are plots and twists of events that I found so unexpected I found my jaw on the floor. The author did a great job at captivating the readers attention and I admire them for it. As someone who has struggled with similar things that are brought up in the book I found it comforting in a way. Even tho it's not a biography it feelt good to have past feelings validated. recommend the book especially if you are/have struggled with suicidal thoughts, self harm ex as a teenager or overall. would however like to warn you that some of the scenes can be quite intense so there is a risk for triggering.
