Laxdæla Saga: Translated from the Icelandic

e-bok

Laxdæla saga, or The Saga of the People of Laxárdalr, is one of the ancient Icelanders' sagas and a great example of the medieval European heroic epic. Although it is believed to be written in the 13th century, it tells of the people of Iceland from the late 9th century to the early 11th century. The saga presents the love story that evolves into a classic triangle, as two close friends who grow up together fall in love with one girl. It involves enmity between the former friends, a competition that grew to the size of the war, and indecisiveness able to keep a reader in suspense for about seven centuries now.
