"Imagine it is the mid 1800âs, Western Canada. Also known as ""the father of British Columbia"", James Douglas is the governor of the colonies of Vancouver Island and British Columbia. Governor Douglas was born in British Guiana into a ""Scotch West Indian"" family with a Scottish father and a Caribbean mother. At Fort St. James he married Amelia Connolly, of MĂ©tis ancestry. In 1864 Douglas stepped down as governor and was knighted as a reward for his services. Inspired by extensive historical research and community consultation, this is the untold story that spans the life of the founder of British Columbia.
Original music and story produced & composed by award winning Radio Dramatist and Music Composer Obediya Jones-Darrell, with libretto by award winning authors Wayde Compton and JĂłnĂna Kirton."
