No home library is complete without the classics! Persuasion is a keepsake to be read and treasured.
Published in 1818, Persuasion was Jane Austenâs last completed novel. In this compelling love story, Anne Elliott is unhappy and unmarried at twenty-seven. At the urging of her family, she broke her engagement to the man she loved eight years before because he was poor and didnât have good family connections. When they meet again, he is wealthy, a captain in the navy, and looking for a wife, but he has not forgiven Anne for her rejection and resolves not to fall in love with her again.

Lovely! Beyond Jane Austens work, I also appreciated the readerâs ability to emphasize those little words here and there that adds that particular nuance - and sometimes meaning - to the sentence that I imagine the author meant, but that is so easily missed. That little piano melody that occurs between the chapter is also very well chosen, played and enhances the feeling through the entire book. Pleasure!
